Both alarms can be turned off ( for a weekend or vacation day). Features include dual alar,s, 10FM and 5 AM station presets, excekkent sound quality, 3 brightness settings for the display (brightest for a brightly lit room dimmest for a night time bedroom). A truly versatile clock radio. It has an automatic daylight saving time function. Alarms are simple to set and can be set for radop, buzzer (that is really a beeper) and a melody. Setting the alarm type is part of the alarm setting process. Time and radio stations arte simple to set Has a small footprint and great radio reception even with weak stations. The only drawback I found is that the instructions are too small for me to me to read becdause I have poor eyesight.
Great little clock radio. Also had 3 brightness settings - I leave it on the middle one during the day the low one at night. You need to read the well written instructions the first time to set it up. Has preset buttons for AM and FM, plus an inline input for your PDA to play through the radio (nice feature). Very convenient. Nicely designed.
Volume control is not digital, so you can not program the wake-up volume. It does everything that I need it to do. There are sleep and nap timers. Small footprint. Volume is good [but it's still a small mono speaker so don't expect it to replace your home stereo system]. The power cord is long and doubles as the FM antenna. Good reception on both AM and FM bands.
AM antenna is internal. Two alarms each with a choice of music, buzzer [2 options] or melody [5 options]. I just purchased this clock radio. The display has an area that shows the time set for each alarm, when they are being used. Long life lithium ion back up battery. There is even an aux cable to connect an iPod or MP3 player. Automatic Daylight Savings Time change with a manual override if Congress screws around with DST again. However the snooze button is large and can not be confused with the other buttons.
It has a digital tuner with 15 preset buttons [5 AM & 10 FM]. Controls are straight forward and operate similarly to other dream machine clock radios. The LCD display is large and has 3 levels of brightness. High is bright but low is a mellow pale blue. All the control buttons, except the volume control, are on top and fairly close together, so you do have to be careful when using them. If the clock was an "atomic clock" it would be absolutely perfect.
I needed a radio in the bathroom with preset station selects so that I can listen to my FM Music station and my boyfriend can listen to his AM Talk station when we each get ready. The clock is easy to read to keep us on time and no longer do I have to turn a dial to tune in my station after he's been in there. There is even the ability to plug in my ipod.
The reason I purchased this phone was because of the duel alarms. I have always liked Sony products. This clock is no different and I highly recommend this alarm clock.
